what can I eat?

OK guys and gals. My surgery date is 1 week from this coming Monday. I am going 2morrow to buy grocries for the family and have decided to go ahead and by some stuff for myself. Only thing is, I'm not sure what to buy. I have heard that I will be on clear liquids and this is fine by me. Can someone help me out on what I can get. Can I get like jello and cream of chicken soup or what. Chicken Broth comes to mind, I can tollerate it, but I don't exactly love it. If anyone dont mind, can they give me a few ideas of what to pick up. Also, what can I drink, apple juice, is this ok or what? Help me out here please.

Clear fluids: diet Jello, chicken broth, apple juice.

After the surgery I developed an aversion to aspartame so I didnt fancy the diet jello. I really had no appetite the first few days so I was fine on chicken broth and apple juice diluted with Water.

Once you go from clear fluids to full fluids you will be able to have cream Soups, and milk

if you go to this area it will give you some good ideas for different stages

Just FYI I would not buy TOO many things of each item.

Your tastes can change after surgery , and if you stock up on certain items you might find they taste like CRAP after surgery LOL

I had a SHELF of Jello and I almost threw up when i ate it after surgery , same w/ popsicles. Everyone told me " your taste buds change after surgery" But i did not realize RIGHT after .

So buy a few things to get you buy then send someone back to the store as you realize you can tolerate them .

Here is the link for some ideas
