My wife and I are working the Cigna Premier insurance steps to get approved for this lap band. These are the facts. She has a BMI of 44 and is 5'6" tall and 280 lbs. Has NO co morbidities on paper with doctors records. Has anyone been approved for the band with just being obese? Let me know what you think/ know please.. nothing is written in stone here just lookin for an idea on what to expect.

Thanks

Scott

P.S. If you have insight that is not Cigna Ill take that too!

I have Cigna. BMI of 41 and no co-morbidities. I was approved the first time the paperwork was submitted. Make sure you have met the 6 month supervised diet requirement and that the supervising doctor writes up each visit, noting weight, blood pressure, diet and exercise program and date for follow up. I also submitted a printout from my gym that showed the date and time I went to the gym during the 6 month diet. Your surgeon's office should be able to give you more guidance about what is required. Good Luck to you both.
