Hi, I was banded last June, I have lost 50lbs. But I need help, I am going to get another fill on tuesday and I have not lost any weight. I am really struggling with head hunger. I know that I am a food addict, and I am going thru alot of stress right now. My parents are terminally ill, and it is draining. I have 7 kids, 3 of whom have special needs, from aspergers to adhd, and a lot of emotional trama. SOme days it sucks the life out of me. ANyway if anyone can offer words of wisdom or help please help me.

It is depressing to not have success.

Anna

50 lbs is nothing to sneeze at in one year. When did you have your last fill? How much Fluid do you have in your band? Getting a fill will help you tremendously to jump start you weight loss.

It sounds though that you have a lot on your plate. I'm not sure how much weight you want or need to lose but perhaps right now you should just focus on getting a fill and just maintaining. You have enough stress and stressful things that are more important at the time then your weightloss.

My weightloss has slowed down to an almost halt. However, when I look back at my life I am satisfied with my weightloss to date because it is just that a loss! I'm not gaining uncontrollably for the first time in my life and that makes me feel fulfilled.

When your life slows down you can start to lose again. Start back by concentrating and focusing on eating meats and veg's and avoiding carbs. You can also work into your busy life some walking or exercise that will help boost your weight loss.

Hang in there your going to make it!

Anna, You can do this! I know it feels like you are under an immense pile of pressure. Don't let this stress be the "excuse" you give for not succeeding. During all these stresses, taking care of yourself is crucial. Taking a 30 minute exercise break, taking 15 minutes to journal your food and count your calories, 5 minutes 4 times a day to fill your Water bottle. None of it is huge in time or energy, but all is gigantic in benefits.

I was banded 8 months ago. I have 3 kids, 1 teen, a 4 year old, and a 1 year old. I am dealing with mental issues in myself as well as my eldest. I lost my dad to cancer within 6 weeks of his diagnosis a couple years ago. I know it is all crazy. I know it all seems insurmountable. By taking those few times a day to yourself you will not only be doing what you need to succeed with your band, but you will be taking some stressless time for yourself too. It will be great for your mental health.

If you need anything more, let us know. We are here to help. If you need more talk, pm me. I'm here almost every day.

Please do not minimize the 50 pounds you have lost. Your life is filled with so many demands and your best friend, food, is gone. You are my inspiration as I am in a funk right now, but when I see your success it motivates me to be better with my overeating and vomiting. We have been overeaters for years and lap band is only a tool, it will take some time to undo our years of poor eating habits. Be patient and kind to yourself.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
