Donnie Darko

Has anyone out there seen this movie, Donnie Darko? I just saw it the other night for the first time and man I can not get my head wrapped around it. I think it's a great flick but it does make you think. I won't get into the details of it so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. But just wanted to see what anyone else thought about this if they had seen it.

I have this one. It is very amazing. I watched it the first time with a friend who would perfer to not delve into alternate though paths or processes.

That must have been a terrible experience for your friend then.:-) Because this flick is all about alternative thinking. Regardless though it does take some time to just connect all the dots. Have you been to the official website? It kind of connects some of them for you but this movie was specifically made for each viewer to come up with their own ideas of what it is about. There are so many open ended questions and so many things planted in the movie. For instance, when he is riding his bike home i the opening scene a red trans-am passes him which is the same car that is driven by frank. and why is he laughing at the end of the movie when he is in bed, just before you know what happens?

Yeah, I did briefly go to the site, but I didn't stay very long. I sort of felt they were telling me how to interpret the movie. Heh, almost said "dream." Isn't that interesting. .. .hmmm... Anyway I felt like the website was sort of like that English teacher that tells you that your interpetation of poem is wrong. Hello! It's MY interpretation... Sorry... It's like that seen from "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield. He hired Kurt Vonegate to write an essay on the meaning of one of his books. Rodney got an "F" on the paper because the teacher disagreed with what was writen... :)

I think I'll need to watch it again.
