Band around muscles

Hi!

Is anybody out there successful with a band around the stomach muscles? I'm having real problems with mine! The first time it was filled, it caused a result like the Heimlich manuever on about the fifth bite. This time they're filling more slowly, but have reached a point whre I feel the choking sensation on the first few bites. Then it disappears, but there's no restriction either, so they're going to have to do more fill. I'm really down about this. :svengo: All suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Sounds like you may be dealing with what is referred to as first bite syndrome. The first food that hits into the stomach pouch causes a spasm, and will either cause it to come back up, or close things off to where you cannot take in any more, even though you are far from really being finished eating.

The fix I have heard of for this, and a step you might consider trying before adjusting your fill level again is warm/hot fluids. Take a couple of sips of hot tea or coffee, even hot Water, to relax the muscle that spasms then try to eat.

Hope you find some help!! And welcome to LBT!!
