Paperowrk submitted to Bc/Bs Illinois

My paperwork was finally submitted to Bc/BS il today. Though my hopes of approval seem small, it was an exciting moment considering all the appts and tests I have been through in the past 8 months. I did get a tenative band date of 8/25/08!! Keep your fingers crossed. Tamara

Congrats Tamara! Where are you located in Illinois? Who is your Dr.? Im near Peoria Illinois. I was banded on May 27th in Chicago by Dr Lutfi at Mercy Hospital. Good luck and stay strong!

I am currently going through the appeals process with BCBS of IL. Hopefully you will get approved on the first try. I have my fingers crossed for you. Good Luck!

I also have bcbs/il hmo. I started process last month. called bcbs cs and was told lapbanding was covered 100% w/referral from PCP. NOT!!!

I was told by my med grp that I have to do a 6m diet. Used to be 12m w/10% loss. So my med group tells me that insurance requires it and I called bcbs and they insist that it is NOT THEM but the med group. IM SO CONFUSED!! would love to hear others war stories similar to this GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Hi all,

I actually left my work in December, and will return in August (teacher burnout, but need the money, and miss the kids). While working, I had bc/bs il hmo, and encountered the exact same run around. :scared2:
