A new feeling

This is very srtange for me to deal with. The other day at work someone I work with was commenting on my 30 lb loss. She told me she wanted to loose her 30 lbs. she put on from just recently having a baby. I understand everyones desire to be fitter/sexier/more energetic/ healthier. But when someone is NOT going to have the band to help them I really feel from my point of view the band was my only option. I told her my little tricks for slowing down when you eat, eat protien first, write down everthing you eat, excersise, ect. But Ill tell you without my band I would be swimming upstream. So my advise felt empty comming out of my mouth. I also find it strange ANYONE asking me on advice when no one ever has before. I realize they see it working for me. But they wont get the same results ( or really probably wont) without the band

Bunkey get use to the changed friend. ( smiles ) 30 pounds when you are very obese is like a drip in a rain storm. But some people do infomercials over a 30 pound weightloss so it's all in perspective.

You do have a view to offer people. Your band and your journey gives you some wisdom that others may not posess when it comes to lifestyle changes and eating habits.

Congrats on the 30 pounds!!

I know what you mean. I see young people at work that start all these fad diets and I tell them that the best thing is portion control, less sugar, protein and the things you have said. However, like me when I was young I thought a diet would fix everything and it just started me on a rollercoaster I couldn't get off. You gave her good advice. That is all you can do.

Patty, thanks for sharing your progression! You look great. I will have the band on July 15th and seeing your results gives me hope that I can do it too!
