Question about Surgical Associates in Tulsa...

I just called the number on their website about the once a month educational meeting. No one answered so I left a message. When the receptionist called me back, she was rude and basically very short. She stated that the meeting for July was full (she acted like I should have known that.) and I would have to be schduled in August. I told her that would be fine and I would like for her to schedule me for August. She then told me I would have to send in my $25.00 before she could schedule me. When I asked her if I could just pay now with a debt card, she said I could but seemed put out that she had to take the number down. I then asked if the educational meeting was manditory. She again acted like I should already know the answer and hastily stated, "Yes. you have to attend it."

Is this normal? I have heard good things about Dr. Fisher and Dr. Katsis but I am thinking about going somewhere else because of this receptionist. Did everyone have to go to the educational meeting?

Thanks for your responses.

I used Dr. Gorospe in Tulsa, and he also required a seminar. I believe the makers of LapBand want you to be well informed before making a decision like this.
