My first fill, I looked like I had gone 3 rounds with Mike Tyson. My stomach area was black and blue! My seoncd fill, no bruising at all. Then with my 3rd fill, big ole bruise again. I called my doctor the first time and he said that it sometimes happens. Well, I've had it 2 out of 3 times. They sometimes have trouble finding my port and that's probably why mine bruises.

I think it might just depend on how easily you bruise normally. I know I bruise from any kind of needle poke no matter how gentle. I have very fair skin and tend to bruise if I run into anything as well...

I just had a fill 2 days ago and so far no bruising. The way he was poking and pushing with his fingers its a miracle!

It wasn't so bad tho hehe

I buise each time I get a fill, but they are minimal. I just had my third one last Friday, and it's about the size of my thumb nail. #2 was a bit bigger but not much. I think it's normal. Especially if your doc had to poke around with the needle to find the right spot on the port.
