Can't get the balance right!

Recommended Posts

Hi- I'm was banded the end of April, and I'm dealing with the problem of terrible gas pains that come and go all day. Sometimes it's just a little, but then it really hurts. It's depressing me as I would like to feel well. Losing the weight is great, but feeling well is important too!!!!!!!!!!

I use anti-gas meds, I spread out my eating. But when I spread out the eating it makes it more difficult to get the Water in. So I get a bit dehydrated. I'm not eating "gassy" foods (I wouldn't dare right now), use lactaid, and don't eat fruit. Keeping my stomach lightly full helps, but not all the time.

Is this something anyone else has had? Who wants pains and loud grumbling all the time?

Thanks-Gwenn

I was banded April 21, 2008. I don't get a lot of gas. I drink about 64oz of Fluid a day. I dont normally get hungry but when I do and my stomach growls I will eat about 10-15 cashews, which helps. My doc said stop drinking 10 before and dont drink until 20-30 min after. Tell your doctor about the gas pains. Cause they should have stopped by now.

I know most people don't have this problem. That's why I posted. To see what I could find out. One thing I do know is that the rumbling in your stomach when you're hungry.....that's gas. It's air filling up and bouncing around the empty space.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
