Calling all McKinney, TX Bandsters

I've found quite a few fellow McKinney bandsters on this site, and I was interested to see if there are others. I thought I would gauge interest in starting a McKinney support group. So, let me know if you are interested!

Debbie, I'm so excited for you. This is the beginning of a whole new you. My lap-band is the best thing I have done. You'll get tired of all the protein drinks, I never thought I would miss chewing something so much, but it is well worth it. I've lost 41 lbs. in the 3 months since I was banded on July 24, 2008, and I feel better than I have felt in years. Whatever you do, follow your doctors instructions on what to eat. All doctors give different directions, make sure you do what yours says. I've has 2 fills and they aren't bad at all. You can do this. One of my greatest joys is to see how my clothes swollow me now. The first few weeks are tough, but you can handle it. Best of luck to you. I'll pray for you.

Quilting bee!!! Thank you for the encouragement i'm looking forward to a new life . Do you feel like you have missed anything? Are you still eating what you want just smaller portion ? That is what i'm hoping for without a lot of junk food of course.

I have been on liquids for 12 days now and it has gotten easier as the days go bye at first i was starving but have made it without cheating.

i will have surgery on 10-29 at 7:30am and let you know how i'm doing.

Debbie, Tomorrow is your big day. I'm tickled for you. Keep positive thoughts, this is going to be the start of a new you. My surgery was fine, very little after pain. I was up walking in a few hours and home the next afternoon. I have back issues and have been taking pain management shots and I feel better than I have in decades. Just the 40+ lbs. I've lost so far has made a world of difference. Constitapation was the only problem I had and but once I started eating more veggies things got better. If you have problems don't hesisate to call your doctor, that's what they get paid the big bucks for. Next time we chat you'll be banded. Good Luck.
