Mexico Surgery...Living in Colorado?

Is there any doctor's here that will 'touch' you if you've had a Mexican lapband? I heard I should check before i go to Mexico.

I would suggest looking up all of the doctors in your area, and then giving them all a call. Be very honest, and ask them if they will do your aftercare. Some say NO outright, and others make the cost prohibitive (one place told me $600 for a fill). Good luck!

Hi- I realize your original post was a little while ago but here is an answer....

I had my lapband done by Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I have gotten all my fills by Dr. K (Kirschenbaum) in Aurora, CO. He does make you sign something and makes it very clear that he is only there to do your fill and don't call him if you have an emergency....

He charges $150 for a fill and does a terrific job even though he does not use Flouro... my fills have always been perfect.

I do wish I had looked into him a little better before I went to Mexico. I do still think Dr. Ortiz is the best around, but Dr. K charges $10K I think and then fills are $15.

I definanlty don't go in as often because of the fill cost. If it were only $15, I would have been back for some more tweaks...

Hope that helps.
