Elevated Liver Function Tests

Has anyone had elevated liver function test come back on a blood test after having the lap band? Just wondering if something about losing weight quickly can cause an elevation in AST & ALT.

Thanks!

If you have had a large weight loss recently then the liver has to process all that fat, anytime you put your liver under a strain you can get elevated liver enzymes, but as always talk to your Doctor to make sure it is not something serious. Good Luck

Are you on medications for pain or anything else? Many medications can cause this too.

Yes! But we weren't sure why. I am thrilled to know that it could be rapid weight loss. I'll talk with my doctor about that. Thanks for posting this!
