I just had a consult with the Dr who will do my surgery. He told me right away that I have a hernia at a large scar from a old gall bladder surgery. He said the surgery can be done but it will be more difficult. After I lose weight I will need more surgery. I was so shocked( I thought it was just fat) that I didn't ask this question. Will filling my stomach with gas for the operation cause more damage to the hernia? I've been reading a lot of post but haven't came across this. He said he couldn't do both at the same time.

Thanks for the info on the MRSA bug. It is a frightening thing. They did tell me that when elderly patients from nursing homes are admitted to the hospital, they are automatically tested for the bug. That says a lot for nursing homes, doesn't it.
