2nd fill, cant drink anything !!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Can someone help here. I had my second fill yesterday and I had quite a bad night, I can only sip very small amounts of Fluid at the moment or it comes back up. I wondered if its due to the stomach swelling after the fill, will this sort itself out, I've only got 4cc's in at the moment.

if this continues today I would contact my doctor, it could be swelling but it could be that you need a slight unfill. You never want to be too full for too long it is not good for your health or you mental state. Good luck and don't delay calling him you do not want to get dehydrated

Hey girlfriend! I went through the same thing...

Yes, your stoma swells after a fill. How much? Who knows... but you should be able to get Water down, at least.

I wouldn't wait more than 48 hours after your fill to return to the doctor's office for an unfill if you haven't had any Water. If you can get down water, then you can hold out a few more days to see if the swelling goes down and then you can gage if your fill is good for you or not.

You said you had your fill yesterday? If you can't get water down, you should make an appointment for an unfill. Just a slight unfill could do it.

Don't panic though. We all go through it. I even had a fill too tight UNDER FLOUROSCOPY! So, I swelled really bad after my fill and had to return to Mexico 3 days later for an unfill. Talk about stress! I hadn't had water or food in 3 days, about to shrivel up and die and had to get on the airplane to Mexico! haha... glad I can laugh about it now!

Good Luck... You'll be fine. Just try to get water down if you can before your unfill. Don't work out, walk too much, or even do household chores right now. Don't use any energy if you don't have to. You are dehydrated and want to do everything you can to keep that water in you.

Keep us updated girlfriend! Dana

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
