New here with question on shoulder pain??

Hi everyone, I guess this is where I belong. I was banded on 4-2-08 and am doing great but have a question??? Does anyone else have or had sharp left shoulder pain. It is in the front of my shoulder like behind the clavicle (sp?) I remember having it like a week after surgery and thought it to be gas but it went away and I got my first fill today and it is back?? Very weird. I do feel like it is band related but am so curious is to what it is and will it go away again??? Any help would so be appreciated???

I know when I've eaten too much because my left shoulder hurts. I'm assuming my stomach presses on the nerves that run through there or it presses on the port which then presses on nerves. I had really bad gas after surgery and that's where it hurt too. I have my first fill today and I'm wondering if I will have L shoulder pain again since hearing it from you. I'll let you know.

I posted a thread called "gas pain or something else?", I think. I don't know how to send it to you, but you might look for it. I can't remember right off if I did it in the April section or the post-op section. There were several people who had the L shoulder pain too.

I hope you feel better soon. Let us know how long after your fill that you experienced L shoulder pain, I would be very interested.

I think you are right. I remember that pain after surgery on 3/31 lasted a few days , but sometimes it re-occurs when I eat or drink too much. I do think that the stomach presses on a nerve. Sometimes I feel a pain in my leg too when I sleep on my stomach almost like my leg falls asleep but it is only my left side. Has anyone else had this leg sensation too ????????? I had my first fill yesterday and no shoulder pain today.

Thank you all soo much for your responses! I went ahead and took some pain medicine last night and went to bed and it is gone this morning! Thank God!! It hurt really bad, I do feel like it is the band pressing on a nerve because it was so sharp and painful and nothing I would do would help! But it is gone now so I am happy again! I got my first fill yesterday and it was a couple hours after my fill that it started and it did not go away until I woke up this morning! I did not eat to much because I am still on liquids because of the fill! But thanks again for all your help, it helps when people understand what I am going through because my husband does not have a clue!!

Linda

I had my first fill this morning and as soon as I stood up, I felt a little twinge of pain in my left shoulder. I'm on liquids as well. I must be pretty tight because it's taking me a while to get my Protein shake down. If I drink it too fast, I feel the shoulder pain.

Connie - About a week after surgery I thought I was getting restless leg syndrome or something. My left leg felt so weird like it was going to sleep, but it never did. I did that for a couple of nights and then it went away. It was driving me crazy. I didn't occur to me that it might be my band pressing a nerve or something. Weird!

Thank goodness for this site because we'd all be sitting alone wondering if things were normal or not! :) I feel better too, Linda, when I know I'm not alone.
