Bummed today. Just found out...

that I have a $2,500 deductible. The lady at BCBS said that that would be the most I'd have to pay out of pocket, but now I'm worried that I'll have to pay that all at once and that would be tough right now.

I've got a voicemail into the surgery center to see how that deductible can be paid....monthly...or what?

My doctors office had me pay $250.00 upfront of my $1000.00 deductible and then billed me for the rest after surgery (in which I made monthly payments). Hopefully yours will be a liberal! Regardless, it's worth every penny!

PS -we have a few things in common, I used to live in NC and we're the same age-it's fun to have things in common with bandsters!

McKoy, it IS nice to see N.C. on someone else's thread. :)

Did you have your surgery in NC?

I'm hoping they'll do some kind of payment something....

Most hospitals have to bill your insurance to find out what they are going to pay and what you get stuck with. I am sure you will be ok. It's not like it's a plastics suregons office where they want the month up front. I know with my insurance they don't make you pay out your deductiable all at once. They base it on the amount the bill costs and they bill you for a protion and they pay the rest.
