Banded with thyroid disease

Hi everyone, I was banded on 3/6/08 and I am very grateful for having lost 30lbs. so far.

I was wondering if anyone else has been banded with hypothyroidism and what the results are. Originally when I was researching and talking to Doctors they told me that I would still lose.....it may be a little slower than someone with a normal thyroid but there still would be a loss.

I met a woman in the waiting office one day who had lost 80lbs in one year with thyroid disease but she said she had to execrcise vigorously.

I'm happy because with much dieting I was never able to lose 30lbs and I already have, but I was just wondering if there are any bandsters out there who are like me and what your experiences are!!

I have hypothyroidism and was banded on Nov. 27th, 2008 Appx 5 months ago. I have lost a total of 91 lbs. thus far. I have found success with low carb/high protein foods. I don't think that the hypothytoidism has in any way inhibitited my weight loss. Congratulations on your weight loss and good luck.

I also have hypothyroidism, I have not had any problems, and have lost 88lbs (banded 9-20-07)I have however had to have my dosage adjusted as I lose, so keep a check on your TSH levels as you lose. I wish you the best!!
