Do any Denver area bandsters have a good recommendation for somewhere to buy a bra in Denver? I wear a 42 F right now, (Down from a 46H!) so it has to be somewhere that carries larger sizes. It's not easy to find something that works well for me in my small rural town. We only have Wal-mart. We're traveling to Denver tomorrow and I would love to find a good bra store. I've lost 44 pounds and the only clothing I've been able to bring myself to buy is 2 new bras. Oh, and I'm nursing, so it would also be good to have the selection of nursing bras in larger sizes. Anyway, I'm hoping to find some clothes I'm comfortable in as well tomorrow.

Shiny -- First congrats on your weight loss that is great -- I am a 38G so I can appreciate how tough it is to find good bras -- I know they are a little pricey (about $100) but I buy my bras at the Nordstrom's at the Cherry Creek Mall -- they have a really good lady who does the fittings and I know they carry larger sizes and/or they can order them if you need larger -- good luck and enjoy your trip to Denver we are suppose to have a beautiful day tomorrow.

After posting this earlier I kind of talked myself out of buying a bra. Money is tight and I can't justify spending $60-$100 on a bra that I will only be wearing for a short time. Maybe I can make the cheap-o Walmart bras work a little while longer. I will certainly buy a good bra when I'm at goal.

The adjustment to smaller sizes is harder than I thought it would be. I thought at 44 pounds lost I would be a couple of sizes smaller. Well, I'm still a 22/24 or 3x in Walmart sizes and I'm having trouble buying anything in that size. Plus I haven't felt pretty in anything I have tried on yet, so there's that as well. I'm just trying to make do with what I have in my closet. Some of the things that were on the small side fit me well now.

Ebay is great for stuff like that. Sometimes you can find really amazing deals. It's not as much fun as shopping at Nordstrom but I've gotten Wacoal and all sorts of stuff on Ebay. Look for a vendor with a lot of feedback - over 30 at least. Stick to brands you know and don't hesitate to ask questions. In addition, www.justmysize.com has some amazing sales on undies and I think they carry your size.

Another really, really good bra to look for is a Jeunique. This is a bra that is not really for "nursing" persay but can be used that way. They have designed it so that the cup lets down just like a nursing bra so that the breasts can be positioned perfectly and this works out "perfectly" for nursing mothers. Plus, the real kicker is that there are no underwires but it provides the BEST support in any bra I have ever worn. Take it from me, a JJ girl (yeah, you read it right), I would know about good support! :tongue_smilie:

I found some really great prices for these on Ebay. If you buy them from a store, they cost upwards of $88. I got the last one from Ebay at only $35.

All I can say is that bras suck. I thought that losing weight would make me want to wear cute clothes and a good bra is very important when you aren't wearing baggy clothes. I am at goal and I still hate bras just as much.

I am not very large chested, and I have never found one that I can actually say is comfortable.

Most bras today aren't very comfortable. I have no idea why, either. I'd really encourage you to hit a real lingerie store with real undies and try a few things on there. I just took a girlfriend of mine to Nordstrom a few weeks ago. She's 45 and had never bothered to buy herself a really good bra. She would say things like, "Victoria's Secret bras last a long time." I kept trying to tell her that good bras could be comfortable but she didn't believe me. She got fitted right, and she's sworn off Victoria's Secret from here on out. I know, I know. :coolgleamA:

I have almost reached goal, and while my band size has dropped from a 46/48 to a 38----cup size has barely went from a DDD to a DD----and I could use the DDD if I could find it in the 38 band size.

Like has been said, until I am finished with the weight loss, I hesitate to spend a hundred bucks a piece on bras, that only fit a short time.

As my band size dropped, my cup size has seemed to get fuller....making me realize, I was probably compensating for the needed extra cup size by going up in band size---but that is not an option anymore. If I go over 38 they ride up to my shoulder blades in back!

Going to go look at some online things and check into the DDD--thanks for the suggestions!
