About freaking time!!!---first fill

I finally had that fill! It is about freaking time dude. I finally feel like a REAL bandster.

I had some Fluid around my port that he had to drain. Did anyone else experience this? If not I am going to check the general discussion area. My Doctor said it wasn't a big deal, but I want to know what it was.

Back to Clear liquids for two days. :-)

Yay

Congratulations on your fill! I had to wait a long time for my first one too.

I didn't have any Fluid around mine. I would trust my doctor on that one.

Have a wonderful liquidy couple of days.

I just responded on the General discussion. In case you miss it, though, I had fluid too. It's a seroma. My doctor said it happens sometimes and it is no big deal. When I had my first fill, the doctor didn't realize it was there so he stuck the needle in and fluid went everywhere. It was so gross. It is still there but he said it can take some time to go away.

I had some of that too. When I got my first fill a lot of fluid came out so he put extra band aids on the site so it wouldn't get on my clothes. He also said it was no big deal and I haven't noticed anything since then even after my second fill. When do you get your next one done?

oh my, never heard of that! congrats on your first fill! let me know if all goes ok.

i still can't burp or if i do it is so tiny i have to wonder if that is a burp. lol i still have a horrible pain when eating at least one meal every single day since my fill on April 1st, the joke was on me! :D i t feels like some one is stabbing me and can last from 10 minutes to 1hour plus. i don't know why something gets stuck every day. i am paying attention. never happens with hot Cereal or pudding or liquids of course but anything solid can get stuck there. i only had 1.6 and don't know if i'll ever get more if this does this every day for ever. i HAVE to stick my finger down my throat to get a burp for a little relief and if i puke it is just the slime. TMI? well i just don't know what to do.

hoping yours goes really well! :)

Jeanie,

Have you contacted your doctor about this? I would do that, then I would go back on liquids for two or three days and see if you can get the stoma to heal. Everytime something gets stuck, the stoma gets irritated and swollen, then you really can't get anything down.

So go back on liquids and call your doctor in the morning. You shouldn't be experiencing these types of issues.

Thanks Karen, I went to group meeting tonight and they told me the same thing to do liquids and mushy food again for around 4 days, so i'll try that. :D

Next fill in five weeks, Karen. Supposedly. Unless I call the Dr. and schedule another appt.

Jeanie that sounds rough. I would do as Karen suggested and call my Dr. You are too important to us to not be taken care of.

Thank you all. I am super excited.

Good deal. If after the liquids and mushies you are still having trouble then I would contact your doctor to see what he says.
