I have a question after reading about Jfran's E. R. visit

I have a question after reading about Jfran's E. R. visit. I was under the illusion that if I ate my meal and finished ok I was doing good. I have felt "pressure" and had mild sticks but once I was done eating and all was ok I thought I would be in the clear. How and why can you have problems two hours after eating? If you were gonna get stuck why does it take so long? I just wanna file this in the FYI section of my brain for future use. This board has been so helpful being able to read about people's experiences . It has been a wonderful learning tool. Thanks so much for the info!

Think of it like an hour glass. If there was a HUGE grain of sand mixed in with the tiny (well chewed) sand, when that large piece gets to the small opening, it can plug it up.
