I think I ve read so much lately that it's all running together. On the BMI history, does it have to be over 35, or just obese? What about a BMI of 31-32 5 years ago and 35+ since then?

When I was getting stuff together for my surgery it only mattered what my BMI was right then. I thin when they look at your history they are just trying to see if the obesity is an acute thing or if it's something that you've strugled with for a long time.

It depends on your insurance's guidelines. Some want your past weight back 3 years, some want 5. Anything past that number of years shouldn't matter to them. From all insurances I've looked into, your BMI must be 40 or above ... or 35-39 with comorbids. Good luck!!
