Hacking up mucus

:unsure:Good day all,

I'm a new bander 2-27-08. Everything has been great but last night I tried to hack up the world's largest piece of mucus. Iread about the sliming and that wasn't it. I seriously had to stick my finger down my throat and hook the piece with my fashionably acrylic nail. It was about the size of a marble. Sorry for the graphic description guys. This is not the first time this has happened, the last time it took two days to cough it up. Is this just me or does this happen to other people?

Thank you

Doesn't happen to me. I couldn't really tell you if it happens to others. I've never heard of someone having to pull mucus out of their throats using their fingernails. Sounds like you have some serious drainage going on. May want to talk to your doctor about some things you could do.

I get that.

It is the thick kind. it is not sliming.. that is totaly different.

All that is, is normal snot. just phlem. I just cough mine out.

i would imagine it was due to the tube they stick down your throat during surgery. Your thoat has probably been irritated and this is the way your body is dealing.

I had a very sore throat post surgery from the breathing tube. After about 3 days I started coughing and couldn't stop. Thought I was going to throw up but instead hawked up a huge plug of mucus and blood. Been fine since then. I think it is to do with the tube and some people get it, some don't.
