I am getting banded on Fat Tuesday too! (2/5) Today I have to do liquids only and I am starving. I probably should have ate more yesterday, but I think nerves were preventing it. I haven't found out my surgery time, but I'm told higher BMI patients go first. Since I can't eat (actually drink) after midnight tonight I'm probably going to faint by surgery time as I am on the lower end of the BMI scale.

Good luck to all my fellow Feb Fivers!!! Keep in touch, I want to know how everyone is progressing....

Interesting, I wonder why the higher BMI'ers go first? I guess that's why I'm the first scheduled surgery of the day. LOL.

Good luck everybody!! And make sure to come here and tell us all about it!

Good luck everyone with your surgeries this week, and may you all have a very smooth recovery!

Ruby! I'll be thinking about you on our band day!!!!!

I don't have a time yet but they should be calling me with it in the next day or two. I think I'm ready to get this done!

See you on the other side!

My band date is tomorrow, February 6th. I have to be at the day surgery center {Wadley Regional Medical Center--Texarkana, TX} at 6:00 AM. Dr. Ron Hekier is doing the surgery. According to the pre-admit testing RN, I am to be his first case--I'll probably go in to surgery at about 8:00 AM. And, due to insurance guidelines, stay overnight, which is OK with me. The liquid diet I've been on for the past (nearly) two weeks has been difficult for me:redface:, but as time wore on, got easier. Now, it's a mute point. The REAL challenge comes AFTER the surgery, when this new life of mine at home begins. I've got a lot of support--my family, my church family--that's good! QUESTION: How do I access the weight loss ticker 'thingy', and how do I get the flashing "Victorious Valentine" sign on my posts? Thank you!!!:)

I am three days out from surgery and am feeling awesome. Even had enough energy and stamina to go to sewing class last night. the only side effect I've experienced is GAS:ohmy:..and lots of it. GasEx and moving are the only things that really help. Even more, I am convinced I made a good decision by doing this. :glare:

Hope all my fellow new bandsters are doing well!

Brooke

Brookie...I'm with you. I can't believe how awesome I feel three days out. Like you I had some pretty wicked gas. It's finally starting to find it's way outta me. Also got some diarrea (sorry if TMI) yesterday but it's actually helping me relieve the gas pain. And yes, god bless Gas X!! Walking is also a MUST!! For all you other Double V's about to be banded, remember walking is the best medicine!! I've learned quickly that my mantra for the next few weeks is going to be: WALK-SIP-REST-REPEAT!! Oh...and don't even bother getting on the scale after surgery. You are too full of gas and fluids!! Good luck to all of you who are coming up......BANDLAND KICKS ASS!!
