Endoscopy done--Hiatial Hernia found

I'm at the stage where I'm having the medical tests done before they submit my request for surgery to insurance. I had the endoscopy Thursday and the doctor said I have a hiatial hernia and some damage from acid reflux. He gave me a prescription for a antacid and said that it wouldn't interfere with the surgery. The thing is that I don't have any symptoms. My sister pops OTC antactids all the time, but I don't.

Has anyone else had surprising results from the endoscopy?

Helen

Hi Helen,

I have had reflux and indigestion for 2 years and my surgeon is doing an endoscopy tomorrow to look for hiatal hernia. He said he will fix it at the same time he does the band. Will let you know how I go tomorrow.

Cheers,

Jen
