Hi everyone, I am getting closer to getting all the approvals in place for surgery. The approval I was most nervous about was the Psychological Evaluation but, it went quite well last week. Obviously, this is a big decision that I am not taking lightly so......Out of curiosity, do any of you have any regrets thus far? Are any post op issues you have encountered that have made you regret having surgery or have the benefits have really outweighed the issues?

I am mainly worried about dehydration since today I do chug a lot of water. Thanks for your feedback!☺️

If you are not able to get the RNY covered as a bariatric surgery, you may want to see if they can appeal it as being necessary for the acid reflux. After all, severe acid reflux is a health risk. We have had some threads here about other ideas on how to deal with the acid reflux, especially if you do in fact have a hiatal hernia :

Thank you so much! Unfortunately it is my employer whom just will not work with me as I appealed the denial as well as my surgeon. Their reasoning is "if we do it for one, we have to do for all" which is quite literally the most insane thing to say as EVERYONE is different. My surgeon really went above and beyond for me on trying to get this covered so my only other option is self pay which was a decision I knew I had to make because this GERD is out of control.
