Recently had a bypass, so when did you start bms like 5days for me now and no BM what did you do ? What did you take?

I had the sleeve, not the bypass but I was discharged with a prescription for both a stool softener and a laxative. They told me that constipation is super common after weight loss surgery. I would check in with your surgeon's office. They can probably tell you what they recommend for you to take.

I take Colace every other night now. I hope I don't have to do that forever, but if so, it's not that bad! From everything I have read, don't wait too long before taking something! I took an OTC laxative, which took care of things. I take Colace (stool softener) to avoid getting stopped up and having to take a laxative.

I drink a cup of Smooth Move tea almost every night. Agree with talking to your surgeon’s office and then figuring out what works for you. I tried several different types of laxatives before I figured out what works best for me.
