Stacy you need to realize that you don't have as much to loose as some of us. My starting BMI was 50. I lost 40 pounds the first 7-8 weeks and then it slowed way down. I only lost 10 pounds during December and that was a real struggle. I need a fill, I've only had one so far. I've had to cancel appointments because where I go they won't give you a fill unless you've lost less than 2 pounds a week. I'll go for 2 weeks without loosing and then just before a scheduled fill I'll loose a couple and have to cancel my appointment. Then I'll go a couple more weeks without loosing again. I hope to be able to get a second fill on the 9th of Jan.

How many fills have you had so far? Good Luck and Happy New Year.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was banded 1/10/07 and have lost 14kgs so far - inc 1 week pre op diet (Approx 31 Pounds)

pre band 122kgs - 1 week diet -

at band 118kgs

now - 108kgs

Have had 3 fills - next fill is on 29.01.08

From what I understand you have to get a fill at least once a month while you are trying to reach your goal for the weight to come off. I actually go every 3 weeks although my 3rd fill I had to have unfilled because it was so tight. Anyway, I got banded on 10/3/07 and just had my 4th fill.

I feel like a big fat failure, but I have lost 15 pounds since my surgery on October 26th. Going for fourth fill on Jan. 21st. Hoping to find some restriction and really hoping for my sweet spot. Boo hoo hoo...Waaaaaahhhh

Butterball, I'd liike to join you in that mini goal...it's 14 lbs. for me in about a month's time, but that is something really good to shoot for... and what a treat for yourself for Valentine's Day!!

14 lbs by 2/14!!! Let's do it!!

I only lost 2.5lb in the last month, which I was initially disappointed about. Then I realised that I don't think I've ever LOST weight over Christmas in my life ... so I've decided to be proud and pleased that I went down and not up over the holidays!

Total of 47 down now and I'd like to get back to a loss of about 10 a month. If I do that I'll be half way to goal by Valentine's Day

I went to see my surgeon today and he was very pleased with my weight loss so far and we agreed that I wouldn't have another fill just yet. I have had one fill since I was banded on in October and so far (fingers crossed) it has been enough to get me losing a little weight every week.... well that and the fact that I have become addicted to going to the gym!

I'm in (I'd like to lose 14, but I'll shoot for 10).

First challenge: Drink 84 oz. of Water today!!

34 oz. down and 50 to go!!

-Becky

P.S. I want the old smileys back!

I'd like to lose 14 pounds by Valentines day! I was banded on October 24th and lost 20 before the surgery and 34 since.
