The FDA approved a new band made by Ethicon of J&J in September. It's called the REALIZE band. My surgeon has suggested I learn more about it prior to my LB surgery in 3 weeks (:whoo:) and she will use which ever band I prefer. So, I'm looking to talk to anyone who either has this new band or knows anything about it. My surgeon tells me that the main difference is that the port is a little smaller. I would welcome any information you all can provide. Thanks!

I saw the two bands and felt them. The new one is more like a balloon feel with a flatter port (by about 1/2 in thickness). I like that! The doc said he wished he could use the new port from the realize band with the old band. I am getting the realize band. The website seems to be unlike no other.
