Just wondering if anyone knows of a place I could receive the new AP Lap Band in Georgia? I want to have my insurance pay for it, and neither Emory or DeKalb Medical offer the AP Band. Any information offered would be SOOOO appreciated. Thanks!:help:

I'm not sure how far you are willing to travel, but I was banded in Albany, Ga by Dr. Bagnato at Palmyra Medical Center. I have the AP small band. Dr. Bagnato and the hospital staff were amazing.

Dr. J. Ryland Scott at the Harbin Clinic in Rome Ga. now uses only the AP band. He does all his surgeries at Floyd Medical Center. I was just banded on Monday, 11/12.

First things first, you need to call your insurance company and find out who they will pay for you to be banded by. Then call those surgeons and ask about the AP band. There is no reason why any US surgeon wouldn't be using it, it's been out since mid-June. I'd push for a reason why they aren't using it.
