Does anyone know if an insurance company will pay for Cosmetic/Reconstructive surgery after lap band? I have been told by some that they may pay for a tummy tuck due to the fact that infection could set up since the skin will "flap" over the pubic area and no air gets to the area. I dont know if this is true or not. I am seriously considering lap band after the new year when my new insurance goes into effect. My new insurance will pay for the lap band.

Heather, I think every situation is different. Some will pay and some won't. Just remember, even if you aren't able to have reconstructive surgery after you lose your weight you will be so much healthier and happier. Don't let the possiblility of future sagging skin stop you from getting the lap band.
