Preop Diet

Hi. I'm having my surgery Oct 3rd. I started my preop 2 week liquid diet today. I made the mistake of leaving the house without anything to have while I was out. By the time I got home I felt like ****. Does it get easier? Any tips? All feedback is appreciated.

  • The pre-op sucks. But do your best and stick with it. It DOES get easier as you work through it and it certainly does make things that much easier for post op. Good luck and stay strong! You go

  • As Matt said, the pre-op does suck. Just always remember to keep a bottle of water with you. I never leave the house anymore without my water bottle filled. Get creative with your liquid pre-op.

Get creative with your liquid pre-op. Get canned soups (make sure low in fat, sugar, carbs, etc) try to go for the broths, if you like to cook make your own broths and strain and this will help keep you fuller longer.

Thank you, that helps. Hopefully by the time I see my surgeon on Monday I'm not irritable hahaha.

Hi. When I got home yesterday I caught up on my water and it did make a difference. Now I just gotta remember to bring it with me. Thank you for the tips.
