Maybe you can try to get it scheduled right before your Spring Break? Many people are able to return to their jobs after one week so you might be okay. I don't think youd need to take a whole semest

Hi everyone,
I'm currently doing my 6 month physician supervised weight loss prior to having my gastric bypass. I'm probably going to have a surgery date sometime in late February or early March of 2019.
What worries me is that I'm also in college and this is going to be at the beginning of the semester.
Should I take a semester off while I have the surgery and recoup or is it possible to have my surgery, take a few days off to recoup and carry on my schoolwork?
I'm afraid that I might have to miss a week and receive a failing grade or at least one less than what I deserve simply because I had to have surgery.
