Nut visits

Recommended Posts

I have UHC and like most have to have 6 visits with my Dr, a nutritionist, etc. UHC stated i was allowed to go back 2 yrs prior as long as the visits were consecutive. I went to a weight loss clinic last year and my personal Dr will sign off on the months of Dec, Jan and April cause that is when I have seen her. My question is has anyone else done it this way or do you start your 6 months at the beginning of your plans to have surgery? I just want to make sure I do it right.

My insurance is EXTREMELY rigid about this rule. The six months need to be consecutive and leading up to weight loss surgery. We also can't have more than 45 days between appointments, scheduling be damned.

My insurance would not accept the gap you have in February and March.

Get absolute clarification of the rules from your insurance company. Get it in writing if possible. You don't want surprises later. I had a friend who did six months in a row....but had a 47 day gap due to a doctor's vacation...and she got denied. They were able to appeal it successfully because the doctor went to bat for her since it was his vacation and not her willingness than caused the gap.

Be careful of these details and be certain you're crossing the T's and dotting the I's.

Best wishes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
