Pre op diet vent

I need to vent. I'm on day 7 of 14 of my pre op liquid diet. Down 7 lbs! However I'm getting to the point the protien shakes are making me gag, I've never liked any type of shakes prior anyway. l try to break them up into 4oz servings throughout the day until i reach my goal, but today my stomach just says no. I tried the protien powder in my sugar free drinks and broth to give me a break from the shakes but omg yuck! Today has been rough i just haven't felt that great and haven't reached my protien goal yet. I gotta say thank God my husband and kids are so understanding with my horrible mood swings lol they've been a Tremendous help.

I got to the point where I just thought of the protein shakes as medicine and forced myself to choke them down. Trust me if you think you hate the shakes now just wait until after surgery. Everyone has their own tricks, but I found that cutting a banana shake with unsweetened peanut powder kept the protein but cut the sweetness.

Yeah I've been forcing them down lol it's not the sweetness of them it's the consistency, I've never liked thick drinks. I've tried blending them with ice but they got foamy any gross. Somehow I'll make it work lol
