I'm on the liquid diet until the 15th day post op. My list was Chicken and turkey broth. Progreso soup so I can strain it. Sugar less jello and Popsicles. Tea, Water, crystal light, vitamin water ZERO. Protein shakes, and vitamins.

It depends on your Surgeon's program. Most follow this program:

Week 1: Clear Liquids (Water, Broth, Sugar-Free, Gatorade or Vitamin Water, Protein Shakes)

Week 2: Protein Shakes (Jello, Broth)

Week 3: Pureed Foods (Us can mix in protein Powder with Jello and broth)

Week 4: Soft Foods (Scrambled Eggs, Chicken soaked in broth)

Week 5: Foods (You start testing foods to see what will sit well with you and will not)

First post. I’m having surgery Monday 3/26. Just wondering what you all consumed when you returned home? I’d like to buy some of it beforehand.

For 10 days I have a clear liquid diet- broth, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicle, protein shake (2 oz - 4 times a day). I also can have juice (100% real juice no sugar added) diluted half with water. That is one of my favorites- 1/8 c cranberry juice 1/8 c water. No more than a half a cup of liquids each meal.
