I'm currently scheduled for surgery on March 5th pending insurance approval.I have called a total of 3 times once I was told they had just received my info and was attaching it to my file for the nurse who had to review my claim to make a decision. The other 2 times I was told they haven't received anything yet.Drs. office telling me they submitted info and we should have a response any time now.Has anyone else ever been in this position if so what was the outcome...what did u do?Because I just left a message with my surgeons secretary again.

Patience. There is always a lot of confusion at this stage. My hospital called me and said I was approved and scheduled my surgery. I received a note from my insurance saying I was approved. Then I received a letter from the insurance that said my surgery was not approved. Apparently the confusion was that there are two approval forms. One that approves the surgery and another that approves the number of days you are allowed to be in the hospital. The second one is really unknown until after the operation and the surgeon can gauge how the recovery process is going. It is a totally confusing process.

Surgeons and hospitals HATE cancellations. Your doctor and hospital/surgical center are going to do everything they can to ensure it gets approved. If they book you then end up not performing on schedule they're screwed because they've booked the time and resources.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
