Help! Cheque Bounced

I sent my cheque for the remainder of my surgery payment last Monday and just noticed today that it had bounced. I miscalculated and paid off too much money on my Visa and didn't leave enough money in my account (off by $300). The clinic (TLBC) said they needed my money by last Thursday at the latest and now I'm so worried that my surgery won't happen (scheduled for this Friday). I am going to send a certified cheque in the mail tomorrow which should get to the clinic by wednesday. Does anyone know if they would cancel my surgery because they didn't get my money earlier? As long as they get the money before the surgery will that be ok? The clinic is closed and I am so stressed out right now.

I'm sure they'll be understanding... just call them early on Monday and explain, and assure them the cheque will be there on Wed.

I wouldn't worry. Having experienced their understanding and sympathetic nature, I find it hard to believe they would cancel your surgery for $300.00.

As long as you telephone on Monday and tell them the problem, I am sure they will be understanding even if they reschedule the surgery. They are dealing with credit all the time and from what I know about the clinic they will come thru. Doddie

Just a quick update. They didn't seem to mind at all. The accounting people I had talked to earlier told me they needed the money by last Thursday at the latest. But when I called on Monday she said I could just bring a certified cheque in the day on my surgery. Thank god lol.

HI Elizabeth, good luck Friday! I just had my first fill yesterday, but still feel little if any restriction. Ah well, another fill in a couple of weeks!

Cheers, take care!

Thanks Ginger! I'm dreading the phase you're in where you have no restriction and can eat normally. It seems like most people need 3 or more fills before they reach restriction. Anyways take care and keep in touch!

Cant you telephone and make a visa payment?

Otherwise, I'm hoping for you they wont be pedantic over $300.

I've just had a similar anxiety experience over failing to return my student placement information and working with children card copy to the student experience office at uni by 22 October. All over the notice were warnings that if they didnt get it by then, then they'd be unable to place the student for teaching rounds next year. Which means I'd finish my academic units and still have just 20 days of teaching rounds to do to earn my degree so I'd be unable to graduate. Which would cost me a year's graduate teacher income $50,000!!! I didnt sleep last night but they've been most accommodating today.

So I'm passing my good karma onto you. It happens. They make these deadlines becuase if they didnt it'd be all over the place but they always expect to have to accommodate a few unexpected situations.

Even though I was only off by $300 in my savings account, the entire cheque didn't go through because I guess it only can if the entire amount is in your account? But it all worked out in the end. I'm bringing my new cheque with me the day of surgery. Thanks for your concern. =)

Hey Elizabeth - best wishes tomorrow, let us know how it went! Who's picking you up?

Don't worry about gaining or losing before fills start - just worry about getting your strength back and healing the band sites. I gained 2.5 pounds before my first fill, but I don't care. I still don't really have any restriction to speak of, hopefully the next fill will help.
