I am considering the sleeve surgery. I went through the insurance process before and chickened out. I really have to get my weight down in order to get my back fixed and get rid of this dreadful diabetes. I am almost 70 and have almost 100 lbs to lose.

I have a defibrillator and other health problems. I'm sure that's why my PC is opposed to this.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions, responses, problems, successes?

They put you under full anesthesia for this procedure. Is that something you can do with a pacemaker? I think that would be the first major concern. Making sure your heart is strong enough for the surgery. I would maybe get a second opinion from a cardiologist before you make any final choices
