post op appointment

Hi everyone. Just went for my 2 week post op appointment today and got my staples taken out. I had lapband surgery oct 3. i was so surprised to hear I have lost 28 lbs from 4 weeks of liquids. I now get to go to the mushies stage. I am afraid to try mushies as I dont want to gain anything back. Any ideas for me? I have my first fill on Nov13. I would love to hear from other oct bandsters!:clap2:

Way to go Marcy!! I also had my 2 week check-up today and I'm down 12. I didn't have any pre-op diet so this loss is just from the date of my surgery, 10/2. My doctor said I could start on solids later this week but to take it really slow. His post-op diet is not nearly as restrictive as others I've seen posted. But also he won't give you a fill for 3 months post-op so that may have something to do with it. Sounds like you are doing great, don't be afraid to try new things just take it slow. Keep up the good work!:clap2:

My doctor prefers staples to close after surgery. I had a total of 12 staples . The largest incision had 6 staples and it hurt a little when the nurse removed them. The next incision above my waist over from the port incision, had 3 staples and the last 3 incisions only had 1 staple in each one. Nothing to worry about as it feels great to get the staples out.

I had 5 small incisions! No staples, closed with surgical glue.
