Red Meat - Before Surgery / VSG / Pre-op

Surgeons vary on pre-op diet requirements. Mine said i could eat normally until the night before surgery (must stop all food/drink 12 hrs before surgery). Now, i have a question...I'm 36 hrs away...

Can i have lean red meat? I see so many varying threads about no red meat, yes read meat....etc

My understanding is that your stomach passes red meat out after 4 yrs. So why can't you eat red meat 2 days prior? Or why can you?

Also, im at a 38 starting BMI so not sure if that has anything to do with why i'm not a pre-op diet for those who are wondering.

Thoughts?
