Surgery was the EASY part

  • Popular Post

I had been told by my surgeon and my dietician that surgery was going to be the easy part of this journey. I did not believe them.

I had seen people say that on this forum and I did not believe them.

I was so scared about my surgery, I couldn't see how that would be the easy part.

Here I am six days post op and I realize that surgery really was the EASY part.

I am back to work and stressed out and all I want to do is eat something and I cannot.

These next few weeks are going to be tough.

Having said that, I do not have any buyers remorse.

Anyone that is getting close to their surgery date, be prepared as surgery is going to be the easy part.

  • Yeah, it's easy to forget what the early stages were like for me. It's so very easy now at just over three months out. It's the cross we must bear. It goes by fast!

Actually losing weight is the easy part, maintenance is the hardest thing.

I am currently going through alot. I was sleeved on Aug 14.. been an emotional wreck and eating the wrong foods.... I've been eating crackers whole grain bread fun size candies pretty much all the crap I used to eat just less of it and I feel like sh!t.... I drink my protein shakes and take my vitamins but I am not caring about myself how I should. I know my situation at home is causing the stressful eating but my only solution is leaving my husband and that is very difficult as we have 2 children. I don't know why I'm venting her I just don't kjow what to do with myself. I've also been stalled for 2 weeks now. Lost 20 pounds was 286 now 266

Try to remember why you had the surgery in the first place and get back to your original goals. I'm sorry you are having slit going on. Most of us have problems with our spouses before, during and after surgery. The surgery is only a tool for you to use to kick ass and put yourself and health in line so you can be there for your kids. ( I'm saying this as if I'm talking myself out of self sabotage because that is my worry. I put myself last and suffer emotionally and sabotage my health for my husband). Hang in there. Put down the carbs and candy and pick up something that will help and not hinder your progress. Try locking yourself in the bathroom with some music, read a book in the tub or go running till those bad habits are no longer your go to crutch. If your insurance covers a therapist then make an appointment and get help with those things you don't think you can handle on your own. Don't let yourself down. You've got this!!

I am sorry you are having a hard time.
This journey is not easy.
I can relate to the emotional problems.
