VSG and Fibroids

I'm in the process of getting approved for VSG (expecting a call any day now about approval) and I've been having symptoms of fibroids for the last two months. I am going to the gynecologist to see what is going on but I'm worried that if I do have fibroids, they won't move forward with the surgery.

Has anyone with fibroids had the surgery? Was it an issue? My mom keeps telling me to just wait till after surgery to deal with whatever is going on but I don't want to do that.

You should address the fibroids before surgery because if you start losing really fast and hormone dumping from burning the fat, that is going to make the fibroids worse.
