I am exactly 49 days post op (yay) Finally starting to feel like myself and experimenting with eating different foods. Its awesome. I haven't had many issues with rejecting food just yet or throwing up so I am really thankful for that. However, my excitement is short lived because......I haven't been able to poop independently since surgery
About two weeks postop I had an issue with fecal impaction and it. was. the. worst. thing. ever. I thought I was going to die. the pain, dehydration, straining, dizzy/faint feeling was enough for me to vow to never go that long without pooping again. Therefore I have resorted to using different ways to make myself go. Anytime I have gone has been with the assistance of suppositories or enemas, stool softeners, etc. although they (sometimes) work I really don't want to continue to have to use enemas and suppositories because I feel like constant use CANT be healthy...also being on all fours shoving liquid up your bum, less than desirable :/ I have tried upping my Fiber, nothing. I have tried eating fibrous fruits, no dice. So the next thing I wanted to try is this Wheat bran, prune juice and applesauce mixture that I read might help? Has anyone tried this and had good/bad/any results???
