Need help

I had my final meeting with my nutritionist last week and she said she was approving me for surgery that I am ready. She said I have to wait for insurance to approve it and then will have a wrap up apt scheduled with surgeon. I called insurance to verify how long it takes them to approve and they said up to 5 business days and that they hadn't received an authorization from my dr. Any thoughts as to what I should do?

I would just call your doc's office and ask if they've submitted everything. If they did submit, just ask for the date so that you can confirm it's been received by the insurance company. It could just be a cross in the system since it was only a few days but there's nothing wrong with doing a little foot work to make sure everything is moving forward as it should be. Good luck.
