High fructose corn syrup is the devil.

I thought I would share some anecdotal information with the rest of the group.

On Wednesday I had a bad sore throat so I had a couple lozenges to help it out. The next day I had splitting headaches and was hungry all day. I just couldn't figure out WTF was going on as I had not experienced this issue at all since surgery.

I went over what I had eaten over the last few days and realized the only thing I had done differently was the lozenges. So, I grabbed the bag (which was from way before I decided to have surgery) and looked at the ingredients, of course High fructose corn syrup was ingredient number one.

I just wanted to share with everyone this concrete example on just how horrible high fructose corn syrup is. Of course most of us know and avoid this evil substance, but I wanted to shine a light on the fact that just 2 small lozenges essentially made me ill for two days. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to those who think "Maybe I can eat just one piece of candy and it won't hurt." It will hurt, save yourself the trouble.

Stay healthy!!

HFCS is just sugar, with extremely minor differences -- to the body it's virtually the same.

So if you're downing numerous lozenges with HFCS then you're having decent amounts of sugar, thus the side-effects of it.
