Thought I found a great protein bar

Our Aldi grocery store has several flavor options of low carb (2g net) Protein bars with 10g protein.

Tasty too. Although tasted a little sweet. So I ate about 2/3 of the bar and you guessed it, I'm dumping.

Back to the drawing board.

  • I like Pure Protein bars. They have 20 or so grams of protein. You can find them at Wallyworld, Target, Sam's Club and Meijer.

I try and stay away from processed food as much as possible, and Protein bars are heavily processed. That being said, I do use them on occasion when I'm in a pinch because they are still a whole lot

Pure Protein does me that way it seems even if its low in sugar but high carbs I dump.

Sometimes it depends if it has sugar alcohol too. That has always bothered my tummy even before surgery

Would you mind telling us what the name of the Protein bar was? I am trying several different kinds if I can, and I might want to stay away from that one. LOL.. Thanks a bunch!!

I have struggled finding one that taste decent and don't upset my stomach (a lot of them just make me feel crappy!).

For me, the best ones I've found so far are the NuGo Slim bars. They have no artificial sweeteners (no sugar alcohols) and only 3g of sugar. The 3g of sugar is due to the fact that they are covered in real dark chocolate.

They are not terribly sweet, but taste ok, and don't upset my stomach. You can generally find them at Whole Foods, or online of course:
