I started my journey September 1st to have the gastric bypass done. I quit smoking, followed my diet, and for the months of November and December I was stuck at needing just 4 more pounds to receive my surgery date. I got so frustrated and depressed that I was stuck there, I pretty much sabotaged myself and I gained weight back. I am so depressed and discouraged. But mostly I am super disappointed in myself. I feel like a failure. This is so hard, I feel like I'm never going to get there.

Hello Jamie, I was sleeved on 9.7.2016. It's been challenging. I've lose and gained. But I try to get myself out of my feelings. You get stuck in those negative feelings. We've got to learn to encourage ourselves. It's cool to have the love of others. But loving yourself is the best. When gained some of my weight back, I worker harder in the gym. Worked on my eating, because that's where the problem is. Then my mind has to change too. I am 56 years old. I got a lot of life to live. I want be the healthiest I can be. Love U enough to work on you. We put all this energy into getting over weight. It takes the same time and effort to lose it. I am loving myself enough to help me. Please answer me back...

I know it can be frustrating. Seeing as I was in the SAME boat. So this is what I did...after the appointment where I was sure they were going to approve a surgery date for me my doctor told me I was shy 6 lbs of being approved. I was DEVASTATED, instead of being discouraged I IMMEDIATELY went on strict diet and drank TONS of Water. I lived off Protein shakes for Breakfast, hard boiled eggs for snack and baked or sautéed chicken on a salad and drank LOTS of Water throughout the day. I also tried my best to incorporate at least a half hour of some type of "workout" even if it was just dancing. I lost 14 lbs within a week and a half! Just stay strong and think about why your doing this whenever u feel like "cheating". But don't beat yourself up, keep your head up and stay determined. It will happen. :)

I also did turkey wraps or sandwiches (on wheat bread) for lunch! And had Greek yogurt as well!

Thank you for your reply. I've been having a rough time this month. I've pretty much sabotaged myself like I've said. I gained about half of what I lost back. I don't know why I did this. I'm 36 and have 6 year old twins. I want nothing more than to lose this so I'm better for them. I go for my weigh in on Thursday and I'm dreading it. I keep saying tomorrow I'm doing this and I start it off great. By the end of the day I've screwed myself. I don't know what to do.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
