Fears?

What are some of your fears about this surgery? Wether it be fears for before, during or after the surgery? Some of mine are since starting the program gaining more weight before surgery day, my last appointment I had with the actual surgeon was in July (since then only seen the doctors ive need clearance from) and to be honest I don't remember how much I weighed when I was there, whoops so I'm hoping when I go to see him on December 1st for my last check in before surgery on the 16th that I haven't gained, but least my pre op starts on the 2nd and besides shrinking liver you usual drop pounds even if just a little. fears for during are probably obvious, what if something goes wrong ive never been under before, how will I take to it, and all the other complications that could happen for after I have a lot more fears then anything else, like what if it takes forever to heal, what if I'm in pain for weeks, what happens if I end up having complications that can arise after, thinking about how much loose skin I could/will have (I know thats something stupid to worry about but at 23 years old it does kinda scare me to think if loose skin will make me look uglier than just being fat) what about if I never get to goal weight, will I hate myself for it or will I end up finding happiness in just being not obese and hopefully healthier, what if my friends and family look at me different, will I ever be confident or will I always be the girl I am now that isn't so much that, my list can probably be pages long haha but share with me some of yours :) any fears the same or similar?

I drink 80 plus ounce of water a day..... the isopure is 32 itself and I am drinking 2 bottles a day

The only other thing I can think of is that your body is resisting and you'll lose the weight in one fell swoop. Are you also counting calories? Your liquid intake should be between 800-1200 cal.

I am so glad we have this group going on.

My fear is that I won't be able to drink my Water, i don't like water.

I brought stuff to put in my water so I'm hoping it helps.

I have a spinal simulator implant and I hop it doesn't interfere with my recovery.

My sleeve date is Dec 7, I start my liquid diet on Nov 30th.....

Good luck all!

All I do is drink and drink .... My head is killing me I live in the bathroom... TMI I know but 8 days to go . Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow morning. that is all I can do

-ohheymarina, in my 30's I lost almost 200lbs (unfortunately didn't keep it all off, it that why I'm at this point) and had some loose skin. I exercised a lot and that did help. And I know that from talking to friends and family I felt it was much worse than it actually was. People I met post weight loss couldn't really telll, though some things were hidden by clothes. And there is always skin surgery if needed. Those surgeries have come a long way.

Malin, I really am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you have picked a good and competent surgeon in a reputable facility. Things really have come so far since then. I know I've only considered surgery in the past few years because of those advancements.

My fears and anxiety are so many. I do worry about post surgical complications, strictures and gerd mostly. I'm doing this surgery to improve the quality of my life and don't want to be one of those few people that wind up sicker afterwards. I worry about my friends and family really understanding my limitations for the few weeks and months after surgery. I worry about the initial "buyers regret" people have after surgery. I don't know if i will have anyone to talk to about those feelings. My friend and family all keep wanting to make sure I won't regret this decision so I don't feel like they will be an understanding ear. I worry I will only loose 20-40lbs. I really want to get to a normal bmi as a result of this surgery, something I have never been, even when I lost all that weight before. Lastly, I worry that I won't keep the weight off, the biggest reason I'm getting this done. I think that's enough worries for one person!
