Any body else having shoulder and neck pain after surgery? Can the gases get in your shoulders anything you can do to help it. I'm 3 days post op anybody experience this

Yes, probably most people. Primarily left side. Walk, walk, walk. Over the counter stuff with names like Gas X or gas strips. It will evaporate when it evaporates. Maybe a few days, maybe a few weeks. No way to know.

Yes I am 10days post op and I woke up with neck and shoulder pain Friday and I used a warm compress and it really helped me.

It's the surgical gas. If you don't work it out of your body through frequent walking and movement, it will rise in your abdominal cavity like that. You need to move a lot more, so it works its way out. No gas remedies will work, because the gas is not in your digestive tract, it's in your peritoneal cavity. It hasn't worked its way into your digestive tract to move out of your body, yet.

Oh yes. The gas definitely causes shoulder, neck pain. It will get better.

Oh my gosh yes.....that was the first thing I felt after I woke up from surgery. I had to take muscle relaxers and pain meds. The most horrible feeling. I have had to go get shoulder and neck massages.

Hello! I had my surgery on the 25th. The pain will subside. I still feel it every once and awhile but I am positive that it will go completely away. I encourage walking, but make sure you take frequent breaks.
